Collage No. 37 // India
I have been thinking quite often about India lately due to the fact that I traveled to India once in 2009, that I was sharing an apartment with 4 people in Barcelona and one of my flatmates was from India, who became a dear friend to me while I was living with her and even though I left that shared apartment and Barcelona a long time ago, we are still in touch and she is a pretty good friend of mine...we might not see each other very often, also we don't talk that often, but we are always there for each other and that is what makes a good friendship!
Also since working as a language teacher again, I am teaching a few women from India and they are also super lovely, warm-hearted and generous. So now I know why I felt so inspired to create an Indian mood based collage this week!
I could have traveled to India this year with my friend but it did not work out unfortunately but hopefully sometime in the near future I will be able to travel with her to her home country and get a different perspective experiencing India than I did when I was there in 2009. We all know that your country and cultural experience is always very different again once you travel and stay with somebody from that country. It gets a lot more personal and intense than it is whenever you just explore a country on your own because people will share insights with you, tell you about their cultural and historical backgrounds which helps you tremendously to understand the cultural and also often political situation a country is currently facing and so on.
Well, 'travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer' is my favourite quote and I can't wait to get back to traveling again...hopefully sometime soon whenever things on my financial side look a little better.
