Collage No. 40 // Desert Mood

I was very inspired by the desert doing this collage. The desert photo I took in Iran where we saw quite a lot of desert as you can imagine.

My goal was to give this collage a clean and minimal magazine style look, playing around with lines, images and typography. I'm really into branding, editorial design and pattern making. Another thing I want to specialise in is packaging and illustration but one thing after another. Rome also wasn't built in one day so I also have to learn to be a little more patient with myself instead of setting high goals, being a perfectionist and in the end disappointing myself because the expectations I put on myself simply cannot be fulfilled so quickly. Of course a big portion of self-doubt often is also involved here which in consequence is paralysing and just results in procrastination. This is a damn vicious circle that you probably also know quite well if you are a perfectionist, Type-A personality or however that baby should be named. Well, in my opinion the only thing that helps to chase it away is work; working against it, the more you work, the better it is to overcome self-doubt and perfectionism.

Anyways, here is Collage No. 40! 20 more collages to go and then I will come up with a new challenge for myself besides client work and teaching! I can't understand how people ever become bored, I am always busy and it seems my agenda never gets shorter. Maybe that's a big part that gets and keeps us creative folks going!
