Hometown Treasures - Hofgut Oberfeld, an organic farm right in the city

Hello lovely you! I hope you had a good start of the week. Today I want to show you one of my favourite locations in my hometown Darmstadt, Germany. It is an organic farm pretty in the outskirt of the city center. If you follow along on Instagram, you know that I love going there for coffee or to buy the raw milk that I enjoy so much. 

This magical place is called Hofgut Oberfeld. It is a peaceful place not far from my home. The weekends it is packed with families so usually I go during the week whenever it is less busy. If you ever come to this area, I suggest you take a look at this wonderful place. You can visit the cows in their shed or when they are outside grazing grass. The cows and the chickens are really lucky and live a happy life there. Hofgut Oberfeld also has a small shop where they sell organic groceries, a bakery and a café where you can enjoy breakfast, soups for lunch and homemade cakes and of course coffee, hot chocolate and tea.

The café is in this building. It has big windows so you can enjoy the scenery even when sitting inside. 

In summer you can of course sit outside and sometimes the chickens are running around and they will come to you and just hang around your table at your feet for a bit. I like it very much. It is so nice to be in nature surrounded by animals who live a good life and produce nourishing milk and eggs for you. When possible I buy my milk here, you can get raw milk which tastes absolutely divine. Milk is one of my major food sources so of course I want drink the best one, the Hofgut milk certainly is my favourite milk ever. 

The outside area of the Café Oberfeld, sometimes you have chickens running along here. It is very cute when they are around and the kids are super happy to see them.

Hofgut Bakery. They have a spelt bread called 'Dinkel Twister', that tastes super delicious.
