THE WELLNESS EDITION NO.3 - Dealing With Negativity

THE WELLNESS EDITION NO.3 - Dealing With Negativity

Unfortunately there are always people who try pulling you down with their negativity. People who simply love judging, even if they don't even know anything about the topic they are judgemental about. Very often in life when you decide to do things a little different than maybe everyone else is doing it, people seem to get jealous of your courage to do your own thing and then they judge you and often have a bad attitude towards you.

GERMAN ANGST

I grew up in Germany, in my opinion a country, where people love to judge, where folks are often quite square and narrow-minded, which has the consequence that you "have to do everything like everyone else does" or in their opinion "you do it all wrong". There only seems to exist black and white and no nuance in between. It is something that I despise here, it was one of the reasons why I left Germany and moved to Spain, because I felt that being authentic is not appreciated here at all. Being critical and having your own opinion, also not appreciated.

It makes me sad. I recently had my fair share of negativity towards my decision to become self-employed. The only thing to do about it is not to think or care about what other people think of my decisions and choices and just to continue doing what I want to do and to work as hard as I can to prove them all that they were wrong.

FOLLOW YOUR DREAMS

So I want to encourage everyone who is reading this, follow your dreams, don't get carried away by all the negativity you encounter during your journey and just continue working hard and taking one small step after another. There is only you who can do it. No one else does the work for you if you are not doing it. I just wished people were less judgemental and instead of judging you and your decisions, they would take care of themselves and improve their own happiness or work for their own goals. But apparently some folks prefer being unhappy and not changing anything if they are not satisfied with a situation. It seems much easier to stay stuck in the good old comfort zone instead of taking a risk and moving on to something better.

Folks, stay true to yourself, be authentic, be critical and work hard for your goals. The busier you are with yourself, the less time you have to be judgemental about someone else. Dealing with negativity is best done when you focus only on yourself and ignore whoever wants you no good. Set boundaries, cut the ties with people who devaluate you and keep on working. So I hope you find some courage on this Monday for the new week. Don't enter the game of pessimism and negativity, it is not your game...
