Corona Quarantine

I decided to dedicate a blog post to the current situation we are all in together - but each of us isolated at home. Our quarantine has been going on for about one month more or less already, in some countries there is a very strict curfew while in others it is a litte more loose, like here in Germany where I am.

I know, the situation is very unpleasant and uncertain and we have no idea how long it will still be like that. But still I think that each one of us can try to focus on making the best out of this situation. For example the time at home can be used to work on yourself, to better yourself, to improve yourself, to learn new skills that you have always wanted to learn already and so on.

I gotta admit, when this whole crisis started I was devastated because I thought it will mean that I can’t work and will financially be ruined. Thankfully a solution has been found, I work less than before but at least I have the privilege that I can still work a bit from home. Of course my workload is a lot less these days but on the other hand I can use the new free time to work on everything I did not have time before.

I finally bought a grill for my balcony that I have been wanting to buy for a very long time already. So I thought now that I spend so much time at home, this is the perfect time to buy it and then to cook with it outside as much as I can, so cooking on my grill will be a new hobby and make this quarantine a whole lot more pleasant for me…

Here I just want to give you a few ideas what you can do these days;

  • learn a new skill or improve on something you always wanted to get better at

  • make sure you nourish your body and soul well, you can improve your cooking and baking skills and always eat well

  • do workouts at home, so many fitness and yoga trainers now provide tons of free resources on Instagram how to stay fit while being at home

  • you can use the time to become invested in self-development and self-improvement. You can read books, listen to podcasts, read blogs…

  • you can start the business project you always wanted to start but never did since your normal life kept you quite busy

  • getting into Yoga, Meditation, praying in order to calm down and to learn how to relax better

  • to foster your friendships and relationships

  • apply for new jobs if you are unhappy in your current job

  • declutter and clean your home (a friendly reminder to myself, it certainly is time to do it again)

  • learn a new language

  • learn to bake and cook

  • get creative with drawing, photography, painting or whatever interests you

  • make sure you have a routine of getting up at a decent time, having breakfast and so on so that your day is structured which always supports your wellbeing

  • start a blog

  • write a book

  • learn to sew

So here are just a few ideas that came into my mind but of course there are still tons of things to add to this list. So, if you have any ideas please let me know in the comment section and I will add them here.

Stay healthy and safe!

Love,

Phyllis
