appreciating summer

I sadly realise that Summer is coming to an end already…lately when I was walking and driving through the streets, I noticed that there are so many leaves on the ground already and that August is basically the Sunday of Summer.

Truth is, I only wanted to illustrate and design tonight, I wanted to create a collage illustration combination for this Friday night blog post. I am not keen on writing a long article tonight but I promise, one will follow soon…I am already working on the design and also, I am trying to figure out the topic, I want to write about.

But this post here was purely to get my creative juices flowing when it comes to illustration, collage art and graphic design.

In the past, when I was still in school, I loved Fall and Winter but this dramatically changed when I moved to Spain, ever since that I love Spring and Summer. Maybe because moving to Spain (and years before to Argentina) were ‘moves’ that helped me to get out of my depression so ever since then Summer and Spring became my favourite seasons.

So here is a small collection of what to love about Summer

• sunshine

• BBQs

• picnics (ok this year we have not really done this yet, but hey it is never too late to get started)

• summer clothes; hello let’s talk about gorgeous dresses and skirts…

• flip-flops

• swimming (also another thing I have not done this Summer yet thanks to Corona but hey maybe it is still gonna happen)

• summer fruit

• summer food in general

• greek salad, tomato salad, caprese

• grilled fish

• Aperol Spritz (haha, I drink that throughout the whole year but I get the feeling it tastes even better in summer while looking at the ocean, a lake or a river…just some kind of water)

• faster hair growth

• a nice summer tan

• my hair getting blonder

• freckles

• not feeling cold
