Chasing light! What does it mean to you? What does it mean to me? When I think about chasing light, I think about sunshine and sunlight. For example whenever the sun is out I try to find a place where I can get as much sunshine as possible.

But I also understand 'chasing light' on a different level, that you should chase light in your life as well and find a lifestyle that suits you best and that helps you to become the best version of yourself. 

CHASING GOALS

Chasing sunlight gives me energy and so does sticking to my goals and making them reality. So  in a metaphorical sense chasing light means to me to chase my dreams and goals because they are like light - shining bright in front of me.

But dreams and goals don't become reality by themselves. You have to work for it. Let's say you have a goal, you think about it every day, figuratively it 'lights' your day, so you gotta chase it and work for it. I think it is kind of fun to translate our feelings and emotions into pictures because that way they get a lot more tangible. 

TRANSLATE EMOTIONS AND FEELINGS INTO PICTURES 

I admit it, for a long time I was very absent and distanced from my emotions but then I realised that they become very tangible whenever I translate each of them into pictures in my head. Images that worked for me were for example a big lake and the shore to overcome the distance, a boat with that I slowly reached the shore, mountains representing my emotional rollercoaster, suitcases for all the emotional baggage and so on. You get the bigger picture and understand what I mean? 

If you struggle with feeling what you are supposed to feel or accessing your emotions and feelings in general, you should try the technique I just explained to you. For me it worked perfectly fine and I still use it whenever I realise that I fail at feeling something I am supposed to feel. 

So chasing light does the trick as well. On sad days, that occur sometimes, I just think about the light and then I see myself with my camera chasing it, looking for perfect spots to capture the light. When you feel like giving up because you don't think your goals are tangible, just look for the light and start chasing it. It should motivate and energise you!
