The Wellness Edition No. 38 // If you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit
Lately ever since I came back home from my certification program, I have been feeling very tired and exhausted. Normally I am very self-disciplined and it is quite easy for me to motivate myself to work, clean, cook or do whatever has to be done. But this is not the case when I feel tired and exhausted, clearly not a wonder, right? Truth is that I learned for me is that I have to rest and slow down when feeling tired and exhausted because as soon as my batteries are recharged I get back to work and running errands etc. anyways but when I struggle here it usually is not a lack of motivation or because of laziness - no, usually it just boils down to the fact that I feel utterly tired and without any energy.
So hello, how should you be able to function and expect from yourself to function if you lack energy?! It is very hard and draining. When I was still working 40 hours a week that drained all my energy and I felt like my life only exists of work, grocery shopping, cooking and sleeping. That was pretty bad in my opinion and I don’t ever want to find myself in such a situation again. Especially considering that this was for very little money in return, hell no, what a bad combination.
Therefore I constantly remind myself to rest and not to quit when I feel that I can’t function the way I normally do. Feeling guilty and bad about it makes it even worse because it is so energy draining. So instead I just accept, rest and recharge and then I get back to business as usual. Because everything else just doesn’t work for me at all anyways. In order to produce good outcomes you need to be well rested and nourished and then the rest comes by itself.
So happy Monday and have a good start of the week folks!
