Healthy Lifestyle

A healthy lifestyle - this is probably something that most of us want to achieve or dream of. Also I Think that what each of us defines as a healthy lifestyle, pretty much differs for everyone more or less. Balance plays a big role for living a healthy lifestyle. Everything should be done in moderation, not too much and not too little.

I will list a few factors here of what I see as a healthy lifestyle:

  • getting enough sleep, at least 7-9 hours

  • going to bed early

  • making sure to consume enough calories, eating at least 3 meals per day

  • eating nourishing homemade food but once in a while eating out in a restaurant or ordering takeaway is totally fine - this is not about perfection, it is about finding balance

  • outdoor time, not being glued to the screen of your smartphone or computer all day

  • working out about 2 or 3 times a week (I still have to get started here), building strength and muscles, not hours of draining cardio - hello gyms, now that you are open again, I will sign up in order to build strength and tone my body

  • setting healthy boundaries in personal and in work life

  • saying no, no is a complete phrase, it is perfectly fine to say no without getting caught up in a justifying loop of why you say no.

  • sunshine and movement outside

  • keeping your place tidy and clean

  • not overspending money

  • not overdoing booze or pick the vice that is yours

  • setting goals and working on them, otherwise there will be stagnation

  • spending time doing what you enjoy

  • getting a new hobby that distracts you from mindless social media scrolling etc.

  • time well spent with friends and family

  • self-care and self-soothing

  • actually feel your feelings in order to process them

  • working on yourself, on your mindset, nutrition, skills etc.

  • don’t be too hard on yourself, talk to yourself like you would talk to a friend in order to support him or her

  • stop procrastination

  • stop perfectionism since it only leads to procrastination and self-sabotage

  • focus on yourself instead of focusing on other people

  • be grateful for what you have, don’t focus on what is missing because this will only create a lack / scarcity mindset

  • get creative somehow, creativity is feeding the soul

  • when in a bad mood, go outside, walking around the block for a few minutes already does wonders to me when I am not in a good mood

  • get out of toxic friendships / relationships / work environments

  • treat yourself with love, care, trust and respect - ALWAYS

So this is what i define as a healthy lifestyle - maybe you come up with more ideas that I have not listed here yet. I am currently trying to work a lot on myself to become a better me so I thought making a post about healthy habits is useful in order to stick with it.

Love,

Phyllis
