Sunday Thoughts No.3 // Summer is taking a break
Summer decided to take a break lately, so instead of spending my Sunday outdoors I was at home all day and created this collage. i said it before, I aim to create more with my hands again (collages, pencil drawings etc.) so I decided to get started today. Truth is, the canvas I already painted black about almost one year ago, I have no idea why it took me so fucking long to get back to it - I mean seriously, almost a whole year?! But well, that’s how it sometimes goes in life, right.
So today i remembered that I have this canvas that I painted black such a long time ago and I thought it is time to work a little further on it. I buy fashion magazines pretty much only in order to use them for gift wrapping, collage making and illustrating from them. Luckily I found a Vogue magazine here that I also bought sometime last year, so I created this collage today finally. When I was finished, I photographed the canvas with my iPhone (lighting wasn’t great due to the dark weather but I decided not give a damn about it) and then edited the photographed collage in Photoshop.
Oh boy, it felt good to do something creative with my hands for once instead of digital on my Mac. I will do it more often from now on, also for the designs for my online-shop - I want do design art prints created manually and digital.
Apart from getting creative, this has been a typical Sunday. I slept in, had breakfast, I was super lazy all day long, then all of a sudden I decided to bake brownies since I was craving something sweet (but of course I did not have anything sweet at home) but I had all the ingredients for my favourite brownie recipe, so I made brownies and already ate most of it…yep, I was really craving something sweet it seems ;)
I have a lot on my mind lately and somehow I feel held back to do everything that I want to do for several reasons. As valid as my reasons are, I also realise that I am sabotaging myself because I don’t do anything to keep on moving into the direction I want to move to and to make my goals happen. I felt sick last week, so when feeling sick, taking a break is fine, I allow myself that now finally. As soon as I feel more energetic I can hopefully conquer everything that I need to tackle to get back on track to open my shop and also to shift my design studio into another direction. Like always, I will keep you posted ;)
I hope you had a fabulous weekend and Sunday. XX, Phyllis
